Canary Drone

Game Asset

Project Description

The drone, inspired by the canary in its look and function, is designed to detect toxic gases in coal mines.

Canary-Inspired Aesthetics:

The drone’s exterior design incorporates elements reminiscent of a canary, such as a streamlined and lightweight body, with yellow accents to mimic the bird’s vibrant plumage.

Advanced Gas Sensors:

The drone should be equipped with highly sensitive gas sensors, capable of detecting a variety of toxic gases, including carbon monoxide, methane, and other hazardous fumes commonly found in coal mines.

Style: Semi-realistic sci-fi grungy worn-down look

In crafting a variety of game environment assets for a coal mine setting, my focus was to encapsulate the rugged authenticity and gritty realism of such an environment. Using Substance Painter, I implemented a layered texturing approach to infuse dynamism and lifelike details into each asset.

Layered textures were instrumental in creating a sense of depth and realism, allowing light to interact differently across surfaces, enhancing the overall visual impact. By meticulously layering textures in Substance Painter, I aimed to immerse players in a coal mine environment steeped in detail, offering an experience that feels raw, lived-in, and authentically atmospheric.
